Corylus Horticulture c.i.c is an Edinburgh based social enterprise that aims to get children into growing plants and horticulture. 

Food security and community cohesion is a very important issue in society today. This has been realised also by local councils filtered from government with the introduction in policies such as Community Empowerment Act, and the Good Food Nation policy. Both of these policies are aiming to create more resilient, food secure, environmentally, cohesive communities.

We would like to make available to all inner city children the opportunity to grow edible plants in the urban environment. To install in them the importance of our relationship with plants, food, a healthy diet, food security and the environment. To show them that even in the urban environment the integration of plants and food production is possible. We would like to de mystify the growing of plants and encourage children from all economic backgrounds to get involved, using the building of pallet beds and the practice of companion planting as a vehicle to achieve these goals.

The 5 gardening clubs will include box building, seed sowing, introduction to companion planting, general gardening, some plant physiology and lots of fun. This will show the children and their parents what can be done in small urban spaces.

Suitable for complete beginners and those who practice other yoga disciplines. 

Forrest Yoga distinguishes itself from other yoga disciplines through its focus on emotional as well as physical healing, by weaving in focused intents for each practice, deepening the connection to the breath and tracking sensation and feeling in the practice.

In this introductory course we will focus on the basic moves of Forrest Yoga. You will learn to breathe deeply, build strength and flexibility and connect to feeling.
